SAN DIEGO — The Vietnamese and Chinese Catholic communities of San Diego invite all faithful to their Lunar New Year Eucharistic celebrations.
The Vietnamese Catholic Community will hold its Tet-Vietnamese Lunar New Year Mass on Friday, Feb. 20, at 7 p.m. at Good Shepherd Parish, 8200 Gold Coast Drive, San Diego. Bishop Michael Pham, a Vietnamese immigrant, will preside, accompanied by Vietnamese priests.
The community will host a reception afterward that will include traditional foods, lion dance and cultural performances.
The Chinese Catholic Community will hold its Lunar New Year Solemn Mass and Ancestor Veneration on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 1 p.m., at St. Thérèse of Carmel Parish, 4355 Del Mar Trails Road, San Diego. Auxiliary Bishop Felipe Pulido will celebrate the Mass. Afterward, there will be a lion dance performance (pictured) and snacks for those who turn out.
