OAKLAND, Calif. — “Love IRL: A Radiate Love Marriage Summit for Ministry Leaders” will be held on Friday, Sept. 26, at Christ the Light Cathedral in Oakland.
Hosted by the California bishops, the special summit follows their one-year effort to celebrate marriage and family through their Radiate Love Initiative.
Some 200 people, who minister to young people and families, are expected to attend. Registration and exhibits will open at 8 a.m., and the event will conclude at 7 p.m., after a reception and dinner.
In between, the schedule will include an opening Mass celebrated by Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco, various speakers, table group discussions, and Eucharistic adoration and Benediction. Bishop Felipe Pulido will moderate a vocations panel.
Love IRL is a collaboration of the bishops from all 12 dioceses across California that seeks to catalyze cultural change in parishes, schools and ministries; empower parents and educators to talk to children about marriage and relationships; support priests and pastors in building a parish-wide marriage culture; develop a healthy dating culture among young adults supported by parishes; and inspire through witness by featuring impactful stories and testimonials.
