ESCONDIDO — A new mural of recently canonized St. Carlo Acutis was unveiled Nov. 15 at John Paul the Great Catholic University in Escondido.

The unveiling was preceded by a Holy Hour of Eucharistic adoration, accompanied by the opportunity to venerate a first-class relic of the saint and view a mini-exhibit on Eucharistic miracles.

Adorning one of the exterior walls of John Paul the Great Catholic University’s academic building, the mural was designed by Keyana Harrod, a member of the university’s graduating class of 2023.

St. Carlo Acutis, who was canonized on Sept. 7, was an Italian teenager who used his computer savvy to create a website about Eucharistic miracles before dying from leukemia in 2006 at age 15. He offered up his suffering for the pope and the Church.
