CHULA VISTA — Mater Dei Catholic High School students and community members volunteered their time in December to help package 4,000 gifts for foster, orphaned, hospitalized and homeless children through the nonprofit organization @heyoperation.

The gift packages were distributed to children across Southern California and Baja California.

According to the school, alumni Diane Zoura and her cousin, Brandon Zoura, founded the organization in 2020 to support children during the holidays.
