SAN DIEGO — A first-class relic of St. Faustina Kowalska, the Polish nun to whom Jesus revealed the Divine Mercy devotion, is on a two-week tour of Southern California Catholic churches.
After passing through the dioceses of San Bernardino and Orange, it will be visiting Good Shepherd Parish in Mira Mesa on Thursday, Oct. 25, for a special day of prayer and reflection led by the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy.
The faithful are invited to come and venerate the relic. The schedule for the day will include:
-8 a.m., Morning Prayer
-8:30 a.m., Mass, followed by “Divine Mercy: A Message for Today,” a reflection presented by the sisters. The faithful will be able to venerate the relic throughout the morning and early afternoon.
-3 p.m., Divine Mercy Chaplet, followed by a reflection. Veneration of the relic will begin again and continue until evening Mass.
-5:30 p.m., Mass, followed by “Divine Mercy: A Message for Today.” Veneration will then resume until 8 p.m.
