Women’s Auxiliary to host Advent retreat
EL CAJON — The Whispering Winds Women’s Auxiliary is hosting an Advent retreat.

“Advent: Tidings of Great Joy,” led by Debbie Bradel, will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, in the church hall at St. Kieran Parish in El Cajon. There is no cost to attend.

Nativity Parish to present Christmas concert
RANCHO SANTA FE — A special presentation of music celebrating the birth of Jesus will be performed at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 6, at Nativity Parish.

The Christmas concert will feature Vivaldi’s famous “Gloria,” as well as “Winter” from Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons.”

The music will be performed by the Nativity Quartet and Friends and by the San Diego Baroque Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Alison Luedecke.

The event is sponsored by the Nativity Founders’ Covenant. A freewill offering will be accepted, with proceeds going to Nativity Parish’s music program.

‘La Posada Without Borders’ returns
SAN DIEGO — The 32nd annual La Posada Without Borders will be held simultaneously in San Diego and Tijuana, on both sides of the U.S.-Mexican border.

San Diegans will gather from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, at the intersection of Whiskey 8 Monument Road and Dairy Mart Road. It is recommended that participants dress warmly, wear comfortable shoes, and bring a box of granola bars to leave for migrants.

Bishop Bejarano to join young adults for posada
SAN DIEGO — Posada Diocesana will be held at 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 19, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Barrio Logan.

The event will be hosted by the diocesan Office for Youth and Young Adult Ministry in collaboration with the young adult groups from Our Lady of Guadalupe, Our Lady of Angels and St. Jude Shrine of the West parishes.

Auxiliary Bishop Ramón Bejarano will attend the event, which will be held inside the parish hall and will begin with the posada procession and rosary, followed by food and fellowship. Guests are invited to bring a bag of candy for the piñata.
